Tickets for the 2015 Tryon International Film Festival are on sale now at the Tryon Fine Arts Center (TFAC) and organizers expect a large turnout. With film screenings, industry breakout sessions, gala events and award ceremonies taking place in three separate venues, Oct 9-10; one source will be utilized for all ticketing.
“There will be one ticketing entity for all of the festival activities in order to accommodate the variety of ticket choices and eliminate confusion. We also suggest that people purchase their tickets to the Red Carpet Gala, online or in person, as soon as possible because of limited seating.” said Beau Menetre, Festival Director of Operations.
Tickets for a one-day pass to all competition screenings, workshops and breakout sessions are available for $20. For those who want to experience both days of the inaugural event, two-day passes can be purchased for $35.
Friday night’s Red-Carpet Gala at TFAC is a reserved-ticket special event and is expected to sell out early with the premier of “Harry & Snowman” and a conversation with Karin Reid Offield, the film’s executive producer. With limited seating, cocktails, appetizers and musical entertainment, the price for this event is $25.
Chris & Emely White’s drama “Get Better” along with Jeff Lieberman’s documentary the "The Amazing Nina Simone" will be two features screening outside of competition at TFAC, with each drawing local appeal.
The Nina Simone documentary premiered in Tryon earlier this year for a single viewing leaving many people requesting a second showing. According to Lieberman, “The Amazing Nina Simone” is gaining high marks and will make its theatrical debut to 100 cinemas in select cities throughout the US & Canada beginning October 16.
“Get Better”, a full-length drama, was partially filmed in Tryon and includes several local actors. The film was beautifully crafted in fall colors and tugs at the heart strings of anyone who has ever been faced the challenges of caring for ailing family member.
Saturday evening’s Award Ceremony will feature light appetizers, wine and beer and a conversation with the judges with local moderators. The Awards Ceremony is open to all festival ticket holders but with seating availability, people are advised to arrive early.
With more than 40 films programmed to be viewed, scrutinized and judged during a landmark, two-day film festival, a ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at the Tryon Depot, October 9 at 9:30 a.m.
